Chemical industries have developed by utilizing natural resources from the earth and manufacturing chemical products containing substances which are indispensable not only for human beings but also for plants and animals. Nowadays, chemical industries continue to provide us with many materials which enrich our lives and make them comfortable.

We, Ise Chemicals, extract natural gas dissolved in groundwater called brine which is utilized as a valuable chemical raw material and a fuel gas and supply it to our customers. As a leading manufacturer that produces iodine from brine accompanied by natural gas we provide iodine and iodine compounds to many industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals , electronics and so on.
Based on iodine technologies we launched our metallic compounds business such as nickel and cobalt compounds which are now expected to satisfy robust demand from electronics industries which use them in many kinds of miniaturized, integrated components being used for smartphones, electric vehicle and so on.

In 1927, our founder started the business of extracting and processing iodine from seaweed at Ise city in Mie prefecture. Therefore our company name Ise was derived from its founding place. However now we operate manufacturing plants not only in Chiba prefecture but also in Oklahoma in the USA. Ise chemicals has grown to be one of the world’s leading manufacturers of iodine and its compounds and continue to develop.

The growth of our business until now has depended on the technical innovation, creativity and originality which come from our corporate philosophy. Our founder and predecessors continually strove to overcome many difficulties so that they could develop manufacturing processes, and improve product quality ahead of the rest of the world such as the blowing out method for iodine manufacturing and the prilled iodine product (ISEFLO®).
For the future we will continue to challenge ourselves to expand our business by accelerating energy saving, the digitization of the existing process and new product development.
